DISTRICT ANNOUNCEMENT

Graves County Schools will be in session for students, all employees Nov. 4;

teachers only to work Tuesday, Nov. 12

The Graves County School District’s calendar for the current school year originally included a professional development day for teachers only on Monday, Nov. 4. The district has amended its calendar, due to the special election scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The new schedule makes Monday, Nov. 4, a regular school day for all students and employees. The professional development day for teachers only now is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The change accommodates Graves County’s special election concerning the school property tax rate. Standard procedure for elections in recent years has been for students to be out of school since some precincts’ voting stations are located in schools.
